Audio books used to be clunky and hard to use. They were mainly used by visually impaired people, and those of us who drove long distances, often by ourselves, for work or for play. Boxes of cassettes littered the floorboard, some of them spewing the delicate tape out with tangled abandon, never to play again. Then CD technology came along, making audio books easier to “read” but very expensive.
Using your voice properly and effectively while speaking and recording is important in order to convey an air of authority. It’s also important so that you can make it to the end of the speech – heck, sometimes just to the end of the sentence! – without running out of breath support for your words.
As more and more people move to smart phones, they’re discovering the ease and fun of listening to an audio book. If you haven’t become hooked by audio books yet, know that the world is about to pass you by – listening to an audio book has become so much easier than reading an actual book or an e-book that the audio book market segment is the fastest-growing.

Personally, it’s also a weekend where I thank my dad for his service, and for coming home safely after each deployment.
This weekend is a big weekend for travels, too. As the unofficial beginning of summer, Memorial Day weekend sees a lot of people in a lot of cars for a long period of time. And you know what that means, don’t you?
People are learning that listening to audio versions of books is a great time-saver. You can enjoy a book and multi-task – clean the house, do yard work, work out, or even listen while training for a marathon.
