Do you have travel plans this summer? I’m about to go for a drive, from the Atlanta area to the Memphis area. And you can bet I’ll be taking along an audio book, plus audio products I’ve purchased from speakers so I can learn as I drive.

Why am I going, you might wonder? (Or maybe you’re not wondering, but I’m going to tell you anyway!) In 1979, my heart was stolen by a little red Siberian Husky puppy, and my life went to the dogs shortly thereafter.

The only thing I knew about dog shows was that old adage, “She’s so ugly I wouldn’t take her to a dog show.” Not nice, and not accurate – some of the most beautiful creatures on the planet show up at dog shows, though I certainly don’t mean me! I started showing Siberians in 1979, and am now moving on to judging them. On Saturday, June 14th, I’ll be judging at the Greater Shelby Kennel Club show, just south of Memphis. So that’s the reason for the road trip, and there will be several more this year: Raleigh, Savannah and Orlando, to name a few. I like to drive, and love the chance to learn as I go. If your life is like mine, it stays pretty busy. We mean to listen to the teleseminars we purchased, but can never find the hour or 90 minutes to just sit and absorb.

Driving is a great time to sit and absorb. I’ll be accompanied by Lois Creamer, Ed Riggsbee and other noted speakers. I’ll be learning how to book more business, be a better writer and tap into associations. I’ll be taking along at least half a dozen teleseminar audios – teleseminars I attended and want to hear again, as well as those I signed up for but missed because business trumped learning on those days.

Audio products. What I’m taking with me are audio products. The audio book is an audio product. Every author should have their work produced as audio books. And the recordings of teleseminars and speeches are audio products. Every speaker, coach and trainer should have their work produced as audio products.
